NOTE: According to results of the election, Malalai Joya is among the top winners of the election from Farah province. She will be one of few members of the parliament to reflect the cry of Afghan people and defend their rights. She will face warlords, criminals and terrorists who have won majority of the seats using their gun, power, money and foreign support.
It worth's mentioning that 3 of Joya's close associates have also been elected to provisional assembly in Farah.
Support Joya in Her Election Campaign
Malalai Joya is a candidate of parliamentary election in Afghanistan on September 18, 2005.
She stands against some powerful warlords to be elected for the National Assembly (Wolesi Jirga) as a representative of Farah province.
Women and even men candidates who are for women’s rights, freedom and democracy face a great challenge from the fundamentalists warlords, who using their gun, money and power try hard to threaten their opponents and highjack the election results.
Your support is needed to empower Joya in her campaign. Presence of brave representative such as Joya in the coming parliament is essential for future of Afghan women. Only Joya and her like can defend freedom, women’s rights and a democracy based on secularism and can stop medieval minded terrorists to “legislate” and impose their rules on Afghan people and particularly our mournful women.
